The School


The Tamworth Christian Education Association runs two schools, Carinya Christian School Tamworth and Carinya Christian School Gunnedah. Combined, these schools provide a Prep - Year 12 education for over 800 students, where Jesus Christ is acknowledged, in both the strong academic profile and extra-curricular programs of the school.  Over 100 staff are employed by the Association across both schools.  


The Position

This is a permanent part time position (up to three days per week) based at the Tamworth School. The Successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the terms, conditions and provisions of the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2015 - 2017. Based on qualifications and experience, the classifcation and salary of the position will be negotiable. Dependending upon the requirements and skills of applicants, this position may be job shared.


Key Objectives of the Position

  • Promote Carinya Christian School Tamworth and Gunnedah as an option to parents for the education of their Children
  • Promote and articulate in the Tamworth and Gunendah Communities the unique educational distinctives of Carinya and Christian Education 

Responsibilities Summary

  • Developing and maintaining digital and print media
  • Identifying and coordinating promotional opportunities
  • Identifying and coordinating opportunities to engage with the school and the broader community
  • Supporting the many and varied events of the school from a promotions capacity
  • Monitoring and working within the yearly promotions budget

Selection Criteria

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to support the many and varied interactions with staff and service suppliers.
  • Able to work effectively with staff and service providers, facilitating the contributions of individuals toward a final product.
  • Able to think and work in a creative and independent way to both identify opportunities and manage their own workload.
  • Able to work with digital media products in the design and production of promotional materials.
  • Excellent communication skills to support interactions with members of the school and broader community.

Prerequisites for the Role

  • A current Working With Children Check for paid employment.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the educational distinctives of Carinya and Christian Education.

Non Essential (but desirable)

  • Previous experience or employment in a similar role.
  • Experience with digital media design and production products.
