In Years 11 and 12 students can study Music 1, Music 2, and Extension Music. Music 1 is a more contemporary course, whilst Music 2 is a course that focuses more on art music.

Musicals

Every two years the school stages a full musical which involves students from across the school. Carinya has staged Pirates of Penzance, Annie, The Sound of Music, Oliver, Joseph, My Fair Lady and The King And I.

Students are busy with rehearsals for this years musical. It is with great excitement that we announce that the musical will be performed in Tamworth's Capitol Theatre. Performance dates have now been finalised and tickets can be purchased form the Capital Theatre.

Individual Tuition

Carinya offers individual Music Tuition in Violin, Flute, Vocal, Guitar, Piano, Percussion and Drums. Lessons are timetabled to take place on the same day, and in such a way that they do not miss the same lesson each week.  In consultation with individual teachers, parents are welcome to come and sit in on lessons. Tuition is conducted in the school's individual music rooms by private music teachers. Tuition is paid directly to the individual teacher and is not included within school fees.
