$3,300 raised for R U AWARE, WE CARE
Carinya’s Year 12 Student Leaders were inspired to support our struggling farmers dealing with the devastating drought in our region and chose to support the R U AWARE WE CARE campaign through fundraising events conducted over the course of two days.
On the first day Year 12 organised a Picnic Lunch where students from Years 5-12 gathered on the lawn to enjoy burgers, drinks, cakes, slices, chocolates, Zooper Doopers, music and time with friends.
On the second day, four teachers and four Year 12 students participated in the Shave to Save. Targets were set for the price of each person’s hair with a top price of $2,500 being reached.
A grand total of $3,300 was raised and presented to Captain Dean Clutterbuck from the Salvation Army to be distributed by a local committee to farmers and families that are suffering in the North West and New England Region.
