We Believe in Home and School Working Together
One of our Carinya distinctives is Home and School working together. Sharing with parents in the education of their children is rightly seen as a privilege for all staff, and one which we take very seriously. This means that we consider our job as partnering with parents to create a healthy, vibrant, Christ-centred learning community. In God’s great design, parents are the first and most important teachers in a child’s life, and it is so important that we work together to help develop young men and women of integrity and character. As a Christian school, serving Jesus and others above yourself is foundational to our approach to education.
Research has shown that when schools and families work together, benefits include:
Children achieving better
Children staying in school longer
Children engaging in their school work more
Children behaving better
Children attending school more
Children developing better social skills
Parents and teachers, therefore, both have important and different roles to play in education and, as closely as possible, work together to achieve the best for the child. Good communication is crucial for this and we always prefer to hear from parents if problems arise.
If you need to find out information about your child or an incident that happened, you should always feel free to contact the school and ask to speak to either your child’s class teacher or the relevant Head of School. If matters remain unresolved, then it is important to make an appointment with the Tamworth Principal or the Gunnedah Principal.
