PRIMARY TEACHER - FULL TIME / PART TIME

Carinya Christian School Gunnedah is now receiving applications from qualified Primary School Teachers to commence a full time or part time position in Term 2, 2025 (or as negotiated).

The Applicant

Applicants must be committed Christians of reformed evangelical persuasion and be suitably qualified to fill this role within the school.

The Position

The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of a quality Christian education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Applicants must be able to illustrate a passion and desire to excel in the delivery of a Christ-centred curriculum and to support the development of students as individuals made in the image of God.  New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) Teacher Registration and a current Working With Children Check are both mandatory. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers to become part of a supportive, professional learning environment. The position is a permanent full or part time position.

The School

The Tamworth Christian Education Association operates both Carinya Christian School Tamworth and Gunnedah. Over 550 families, 940 students, and 140 staff make up the Carinya community, with staff working across both schools to share administrative and curriculum resources.

Carinya Gunnedah is a Prep to 10 co-educational school. A strong focus on professional development and teaching standards exists within the school and staff are encouraged to seek progression against the National Teaching Standards.

Teachers at Carinya are employed under the Independent Schools NSW Standards Model Carinya Christian School Agreement.

Salary range as of February 2025 - Band 1 $87,525; Band 2 $108,600; Band 3 $124,006.

Professional development is a priority for the school and two non-teaching weeks are set aside each year during student vacation for all staff to collectively participate in Curriculum and Professional Development. Carinya term dates do not match NSW Public Schools and can be viewed via the school website.

The Region

Gunnedah is a major commercial township of the Liverpool Plains located within the North West Slopes Region of north-west New South Wales. The township is approximately 450 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD and 650 kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD. Agriculture, mining and manufacturing are the regions major industries, all of these supported by the bustling commercial hub of Gunnedah.
